The 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma will cost $99,500 in Canada, including destination and delivery charges. Premium paint, taxes, registration, licensing and other retailer fees are extra. Canadian deliveries are expected to begin near the end of November 2026. That makes Magma a real production model—not a concept—and Genesis’s first high-performance vehicle for this market.

Powertrain, battery and charging

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces more than 600 horsepower in normal operation. Pressing the steering-wheel Boost button raises output to 641 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque for up to 15 seconds. The front and rear motors are rated at 166 kW and 282 kW respectively, drawing from an 84-kWh battery.

Genesis says the 800-volt electrical architecture can recharge the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in approximately 18 minutes when connected to a compatible 250-kW DC fast charger. Actual charging time will vary with battery temperature, charger output and conditions. Genesis had not published an official Natural Resources Canada range figure in the Canadian pricing announcement, so shoppers should not treat overseas estimates as a Canadian rating.

What Magma changes beyond horsepower

This is more than a high-output software tune. Genesis equips the GV60 Magma with an electronic limited-slip differential, electronically controlled suspension and Virtual Gear Shift, which simulates stepped ratios and engine braking. Drivers can select GT, Sprint and customizable MY modes, along with Launch Control, Drift Mode and Boost Mode. The e-ASD+ sound system adds a selectable synthesized soundtrack.

The exterior has a lower, wider stance, larger air openings, revised bumpers and a rear wing. Inside, model-specific bucket seats use Chamude upholstery with orange accents. The dashboard incorporates a 27-inch OLED display, while a Bang & Olufsen audio system is standard.

Genesis Canada includes five years or 100,000 kilometres of comprehensive limited-warranty coverage, scheduled maintenance, concierge service and 24/7 roadside assistance, subject to programme terms. Buyers should confirm charging hardware, winter-wheel choices and insurance costs with their retailer because those expenses are not part of the advertised vehicle price.

Who is it for?

The Canadian buyer question is whether Magma offers enough everyday usability to justify its near-six-figure price against other performance EVs. Its strongest case is the combination of compact crossover packaging, very high short-duration output, fast 800-volt charging and Genesis’s bundled ownership services. The unanswered items are Canadian-rated range, real-world cold-weather efficiency and sustained track performance; those require official ratings or independent testing, not assumptions.
