Cadillac Reports 51.9% Share of Canada’s Luxury EV Segment

Cadillac says it accounted for 51.9% of Canada’s luxury electric-vehicle segment through September 2026, with OPTIQ, LYRIQ and VISTIQ occupying the top three model positions.

The qualification behind that headline is important. GM Canada attributes the result to Mobility Global Canadian new-vehicle registrations using Cadillac’s definition of luxury. It is a share of that defined luxury EV segment, rather than all Canadian EV sales or the entire luxury-car market.

EVs represent most Cadillac sales

In the same release, Cadillac reported a 77.5% increase in Canadian EV sales in the third quarter compared with the third quarter of 2025. EVs represented nearly 70% of its Canadian sales year-to-date.

Cadillac also said 64% of its EV customers were first-time Cadillac buyers, citing internal sales data. These are company-reported figures; SpeedHounds has not independently audited the underlying registrations or customer data.

Keep the shortlist focused on your needs

A sales ranking can help identify vehicles to investigate, but it does not establish which one suits your household. Compare space, charging access, insurance and a written total price for the specific configuration. If range is central to your decision, compare like-for-like ratings and plan for the conditions you actually drive in.
